Glebe Point Road

Le Petit Tarte Cafe and Patisserie, Glebe, Sydney

Type of food: Breakfast/brunch and cakes

Le Petit Tarte Cafe and Patisserie is a charming little place on Glebe Point Road that serves great coffee, delicious breakfasts and lunches and (so I’ve heard) fantastic cakes and pastries, hence the name. Sadly, I did not get round to trying their cakes (terrible of me – they looked great) but I did have breakfast and coffee and I loved it!

I had a vegetarian take on Eggs Benedict – two perfectly poached eggs served on sourdough toast and with mushrooms instead of bacon and a nice dollop of hollandaise sauce on top. I have found hollandaise sauce a bit too rich in the past but the sauce with my eggs benedict here was just right. They also serve decent coffee.

The decor is elegant and reminiscent of a vintage Parisian cafe.

A lazy Sunday breakfast or brunch in Glebe must be one of life’s little pleasures and one that I am now missing. Drinking coffee on Glebe Point Road on a fine day and watching the world go by is another little pleasure. I really am missing Le Petit Tarte Cafe!
